The Khammam Government Railway Police (GRP) have prevented yet another attempt by Odisha-based peddlers to smuggle ganja into the State through the rail route by arresting three persons on board the Mumbai-bound Konark Express at Khammam railway station on Thursday. The GRP personnel seized 45 kg of ganja from the three. This is the third such incident in less than three weeks. The contraband was meant to be handed over to the members of the alleged inter-State ganja smuggling racket in Mumbai. The Railway police booked the trio, including two women, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and launched a detailed investigation into the case.
