Coimbatore: In a determined effort to eradicate drug use, which is a societal menace, and to create a drug-free Coimbatore, the District Superintendent of Police, Dr. K. Karthikeyan, IPS, is working tirelessly.
On 28.09.2024, acting on a tip-off about ganja being sold in the Karumathampatti police station area, officers conducted a search near the Chenniandavar Temple. During the operation, they arrested Muthu, son of Hariharan (23), from Tirupur district, who was found in possession of 1.3 kg of ganja intended for sale. The accused was placed in judicial custody.
The Superintendent of Police has issued a stern warning that anyone involved in drug trafficking or unlawful activities will face strict legal action. He also urged the public to report such crimes to the Coimbatore District Police Control Room at 94981-81212 or via WhatsApp at 77081-00100, assuring that the identity of informers will remain confidential.
