Tirupati: DGP Mr. K.V Rajendranath Reddy IPS expressed his utmost appreciation to the Tirupati Police for their exemplary efforts in apprehending a highly organized interstate ganja smuggling gang. Acting on credible information received, the diligent police personnel from Yerpedu and Renigunta Police Station conducted thorough vehicle checks at Venkatagiri circle in Yerpedu, which ultimately led to the successful operation.
During the operation, the dedicated police officers managed to apprehend three key members of the gang, effectively disrupting their illegal activities. The arrested individuals were found in possession of a significant quantity of contraband, namely 150 kilograms of ganja, valued at a staggering Rs. 20 lakhs. Additionally, the police seized four cellphones, which likely played a crucial role in coordinating their illegal operations, as well as a Mahindra XUV vehicle that was used in the transportation of the illicit substance.
The seizure of such a substantial amount of ganja underscores the relentless efforts and unwavering commitment of the Tirupati Police in combating drug trafficking.
