Goa: On Thursday night when Canacona Constable Mr. Bhagwan Sawant was on duty at the Pollem Check Post he stopped a car for checking. During the checking process, he found banned currency notes of Rs 1000 which were worth Rs 1.48 crore and he seized it. He was offered a bribe by the occupants of the car but he refused to accept the bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh that was offered. 5 persons were arrested from Kerala for carrying old currency notes in a car without valid documents.
