Gwalior: As per the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, Gwalior Mr. Amit Sanghi IPS, an effective campaign is being run against those involved in the purchase and sale of illicit drugs in the district. Under this campaign, a joint team of Police Station Crime Branch and Police Station Madhoganj has succeeded in arresting a smuggler with 100 grams of illegal smack worth Rs.10 lakhs.
On December 25, the Superintendent of Police Gwalior had received information from the informer that a person was trying to sell narcotics in Sheetla Colony, at potter’s Street under Madhoganj police station. On the information of the informer, Superintendent of Police, Gwalior, Additional Superintendent of Police, City (East/Crime) Mr. Rajesh Dandotiya made a joint team of Crime Branch and Police Station Madhoganj and immediately sent them to the place mentioned by the informer to nab the person who smuggled illegal drugs.
In compliance with the instructions given by the senior officers, under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Mr. Ratnesh Tomar IPS, Mr. Vijay Bhadauria, taking immediate action on the information, the team of police station in-charge, crime branch Niri, Mr. Damodar Gupta and police station in-charge Madhoganj, Mr. Mahesh Sharma laid siege to the person and caught the accused.
On search of the arrested person, 100 grams of smack were recovered from his possession. In this way, a total of three hundred grams of smack was received, which was duly confiscated and a case of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused in Madhoganj police station and taken up for investigation.
