Thoothukudi: Deivathiru Mohan, a head constable at the Putiyamputhur police station in Thoothukudi district, tragically passed away in a road accident on March 12, 2024. Prior to his passing, Mohan had kindly requested that his fellow constables personally support his family as best they could. In response, constables from all over Tamil Nadu, who had joined the force in 2003, came together to donate Rs. 28,46,500/- in the form of insurance bonds, bank deposits, fixed deposits, and cash on behalf of Mohan.
On July 6, 2024, at the Tuticorin District Police Office, in the presence of police officers, Tuticorin District Superintendent of Police Dr. L. Balaji Saravanan offered his condolences to Mohan’s family. Dr. Saravanan presented the collected funds to Mohan’s family with solidarity and kindness. On behalf of Mohan’s family and the district police, he also expressed appreciation for the policemen who had joined the force in 2003 and are now serving in various police stations across Tamil Nadu. Many members of the Police Helping Hands – 2003 team, who were instrumental in raising the funds, attended the event.
