Police are not ready to take any chances and have tightened the security on the beach. Hundreds of Police personnel have been deployed at the beach as Police fear that people may turn out in large numbers to protest the appointment of Edappadi Palanisamy as the Chief Minister. a senior Police officer told Policenewsplus , “Police have taken adequate precautionary measures to prevent the gathering of students and youth on the sands of Marina following the call for protest trending in social media”. He said, “Enough number of Police personnel on the Marina and any sort of protest or gathering is prevented on the beach”. Police had been repeatedly reminding the public that any sort of gathering on Marina would be seen as illegal and would be dealt with an iron hand.
