New Delhi: On August 26, 2017, the district police line in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, was the site of a ferocious fidayeen terrorist attack, where our brave soldiers exhibited extraordinary valor and commitment in the face of extreme danger. Despite the formidable challenge posed by the attackers, these soldiers demonstrated remarkable courage and steadfast resolve, successfully neutralizing the intruders and protecting their post.
In this act of supreme bravery, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) deeply honors and remembers the four immortal martyrs who paid the ultimate price for their duty. Among them, one was posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra, a prestigious honor recognizing gallantry, and three were posthumously awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG). These gallant individuals sacrificed their lives on the altar of duty, embodying the highest ideals of valor and dedication. Their legacy of heroism and sacrifice will forever inspire and resonate as a testament to their unyielding commitment to the nation.
