Secunderabad: On August 29, 2023, the investigators from Bowenpally Police successfully apprehended a gang of interstate house burglars consisting of four members hailing from Pune, Maharashtra. The arrest took place at Tadbund X Road, Bowenpally, during which the police were able to recover a significant amount of stolen goods. These included gold ornaments weighing 10 Tulas, a sum of Rs.60,000 in cash, and a Suzuki Access Bike, all of which were valued at four lakhs and sixty thousand rupees.
The incident leading to the arrest unfolded on August 22, 2023. At 7:00 PM on that day, Mr. Ch. Ramesh, a resident of Bowenpally, Secunderabad, reported that his two daughters, Ms. Ramaya and Ms. Ch. Sowmya, had left for work and college, respectively, in the morning. Later, at around 1:30 PM, he and his wife, Mrs. Ch. Ramadevi, also went to their respective workplaces. Around 2:00 PM, their son, Ch. Ranjeeth Kumar, went to Kukatpally to pay his sister Ch. Sowmya’s bus fee. However, upon Ramaya’s return home at 4:15 PM, she discovered that the main door had been forcibly opened. She promptly contacted her father and informed him of the situation. Mr. Ch. Ramesh rushed back home and upon inspection, found that gold ornaments and Rs.1,30,000 in cash were missing from an almirah. Despite searching the bedroom and other areas, no clues were found. Consequently, a formal complaint was lodged, seeking appropriate legal action.
The mastermind behind these activities was identified as Nilesh Ankush Kale, also known as Nilesh, who had a criminal record of 25 cases related to house burglaries in Maharashtra. Nilesh, who preferred daytime operations, had been incarcerated for the past four years. He was released from jail on August 15, 2023, after which he orchestrated a plan to expand his criminal activities to other regions, targeting Hyderabad in this instance. To execute his plan, he enlisted the help of five accomplices. Their criminal endeavors spanned across police station limits such as Bowenpally, Malkajgiri, Chilkalguda, and Gopalapuram.
The successful resolution of this case was attributed to the diligent efforts of key officers and staff members. Detective Inspector of Police, Mr. V. Sadar Naik, and Station House Officer, Mr. B. Lakshmi Narayana Reddy, along with the crime staff of Bowenpally Police Station, worked actively under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. V.V.S Ramalinga Raju, from the Begumpet Division, and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. B. Madhu Sudhan Rao, of the North Zone. Thanks to their concerted efforts, the mentioned suspects were apprehended, and the stolen property was successfully recovered.
