Trivandrum: The Kerala Police has topped the list of states in the country that have proved their guilt through fingerprinting. Kerala has achieved this feat far behind other states. This information is contained in the 2020 Annual Study Report of the National Crime Records Bureau. Last year, the Kerala Police proved 657 cases with the help of fingerprints. Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh (412) were second and third with 517 cases respectively.
Fingerprinting is one of the main methods used to prove guilt and find culprits. Kerala has been able to use this most effectively. This is a proud achievement for the Fingerprint Bureau and the Police in Kerala. The report specifically mentions the excellence of fingerprint experts in the investigation into the Uthra murder case in Kollam Anchal, the theft of INS Vikrant in Ernakulam, and the death of a shocked person inside a shop during an attempted robbery in Angamaly.
