<![CDATA[Vijayawada: There was an illegal stocking up of Firecrackers worth about Rs.10 lakh in a house at Kankipadu which was seized by the CTF officers and Kankipadu police on Thursday. The police said that firecrackers in 35 boxes were purchased by V. Narasimha Rao alias Haribabu, 55, for the purpose of sale before Deepavali but had not got the required permissions. On a confidential piece of information received by a team of CTF and Kankipadu police they raided the house and seized the firecrackers. Narasimha Rao was arrested later. Commissioner of Police Ch. Dwaraka Mr. Tirumala Rao said that the violation of the Supreme Court ruling and safety norms would be viewed seriously. He said every trader must get all the permissions required before stocking or selling firecrackers. He also called upon the public to inform the police about any illegal stocking up of fireworks, particularly in residential areas.
