Vijayawada: Indian Psychiatric Society and Andhra Pradesh Police Department jointly organized an awareness program “Jayaho Yuvatha” at IIIT- Nuzvid campus on Tuesday. Eluru District Superintendent of Police Mr. Rahul Dev Sharma IPS advised students to take help of police when they have suicidal thoughts that every problem has a solution. “Students in need can dial 100 or send a message on WhatsApp no: 9550351100. And students in distress can download the Disha mobile application and get help,” explained SP Mr. Rahul Dev Sharma.
Psychiatrist Parthasarathy expressed his concern that the youth are facing serious problems due to the rash decisions. Nuzvid DSP Mr. B Srinivasul gave a presentation on the lives of world famous people and advised the students to concentrate on their studies to get good marks. Nuzvid RDO Ms. K. Rajyalakshmi asked the students to solve their problems or contact their friends and teachers. Later, Parthasaradhi pledged with the students to work for the prevention of suicides as a social responsibility. IIIT teachers and Nuzvid police personnel participated in this program.
