Indore: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr. Manish Kapuria IPS (City) Indore has given instructions to Indore Police to arrest the criminals who cheated the people and thereby earned illegal profits. In line with these instructions, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Indore Mr. Arvind Tiwari IPS, special teams have been constituted by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Mr. Guruprasad Parashar IPS to investigate the complaints of online fraud.
Indore Crime Branch is running a cyber-helpline to help in the prevention of online fraud, cyber fraud, in which everyday complaints related to fraud are lodged by the applicants through the phone. In the complaint lodged by the complainant on the helpline, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Mr. Guruprasad Parashar IPS directs the Fraud Investigation Cell to take action immediately.
Fraud Investigation Cell team will collect information about frauds from applicants such as fraud in the name of customer care, OTP fraud, fraud in the name of loan, fraud in the name of the job, matrimonial site fraud, Olx. After taking complete information about fraud, and any other type of online fraud, contact the bank for quick action. In 2021, from the month of January to the month of June (6 months), in total 140 complaints of the applicants, after taking information about fraudulent transactions amounting to more than Rs 70 lakh and stopping wrong withdrawal, the money has been returned to the applicants’ accounts again.
