Indore: On 28 February 2022, keeping in view the objective of protection of human rights and role of police in it, a presentation on “Human Rights Protection Act – Duties, Responsibilities, and Precautions of Police” for police officers in Police Control Room. A training seminar was organized.
Under the chairmanship of Mr. Brij Bhushan Sharma, Additional Director General of Police, Human Rights Organization, Apua Indore, Mr. Rajesh Hingankar, Apua Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Manisha Pathak Soni, along with police station in-charges and sub-inspector level officers of various police stations of the city were present in the seminar. In the seminar, ADG Mr. Brij Bhushan Sharma IPS made the officers aware of the legal provisions of human rights and said that human rights mean basic human rights.
In protecting these rights, the police play a decisive role to a large extent, because the police take action against the criminals who violate these rights. Due to this fundamental tendency of the police, it is seen as a conductor and protector of human rights in society.
He said that the protection of human rights is not only the duty of the police but also a kind of social responsibility. This has been explained in detail for its successful implementation. Mr. Rajesh Hingankar expressed his gratitude to ADG Mr. Brij Bhushan Sharma IPS for providing such succinct and necessary information on a sensitive and important subject like human rights in such an interesting manner.
