Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu: In a commendable display of dedication, efficiency, and integrity, the Siva Kanchi Police successfully recovered and returned valuable gold jewels to their rightful owner, Ms. Punitha, resolving a case that had been pending for nearly three months.
The accused, Ms. Meerabhai alias Meera Gayathri, had allegedly been collecting fraudulent donations and misleading the public with false promises for the past four years, along with her associate Mr. Jagadesan. During this period, she had also taken gold jewels from Ms. Punitha under false pretenses and later pledged them at a pawn broker in West Mambakkam.
After receiving the written complaint, the case was taken up with utmost seriousness by the Siva Kanchi Police Station. The investigation was led meticulously by Inspector Mrs. Kanchana, whose unwavering commitment, sharp investigative skills, and relentless follow-up were instrumental in tracing the jewels.
Under the personal supervision and guidance of the Station Inspector Mr. Shivakumar, the team worked diligently to uncover the facts and ensure justice. Their combined efforts resulted in the successful recovery and safe handover of the jewels to Ms. Punitha today at the station.
A special mention goes to Mr. Senthil Kumar, a Police News Plus Citizen Reporter and social worker, who acted as the middleman in this process. His cooperation and timely assistance played a crucial role in facilitating the recovery of the jewels.

It has also come to light that Ms. Meerabhai tried to derail the investigation by submitting false statements to the Kancheepuram DSP, AC Crime Office, and Chief Minister’s Special Cell. However, the police identified the inconsistencies and proceeded with the investigation without being misled.
