Dindigul, Tamil Nadu: In view of the nationwide Independence Day celebrations on August 15, intensive security checks were conducted at the Dindigul, Palani, and Kodaikanal Road railway stations. This special security operation was carried out under the orders of Dindigul Railway Police Inspector Gomathi. At the Dindigul railway station, railway police personnel conducted checks led by Sub-Inspector Bhaskaran. At the Palani railway station, security checks were conducted under the supervision of Sub-Inspector Thirumalai Raja, with additional security duties performed by a team led by Railway Protection Force (RPF) Sub-Inspector Ganesan. Checks at the Kodaikanal Road railway station was carried out under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Arunodhayam. As part of the security measures, police conducted thorough inspections of the railway tracks and the entire station premises using metal detectors. Passengers’ luggage and belongings underwent complete screening. Furthermore, police inspected auto-rickshaws, two-wheelers, and other vehicles parked within the station premises and surrounding areas, checking for any suspicious items or unauthorized objects. Railway police stated that these intensive security measures were implemented to ensure passenger safety, maintain public order, and prevent untoward incidents during the Independence Day celebrations. Passengers were also urged to cooperate fully with the police personnel on duty and to immediately inform officials about any suspicious individuals, objects, or unattended bags.
