Manipur, Thoubal, April 4, 2025: Security forces apprehended two active cadres of the proscribed outfit KCP (PWG) in separate operations conducted in Thoubal and Imphal East districts.
In the first operation, one cadre identified as Ahongsangbam Naobi Singh (42), a resident of Khongjom Kheba Ching in Thoubal district, was arrested from the Khongjom Khebaching area under Khongjom Police Station. He was reportedly involved in extortion activities in the Khongjom area. Security personnel recovered the following items from his possession:
One M20 pistol along with a magazine and two live rounds
One mobile phone with two SIM cards
One two-wheeler
Following leads from the initial arrest, a second operation was launched, resulting in the arrest of another active cadre of the same outfit, identified as Maibam Tomba Singh alias Loya (42), originally from Tentha Khunjao in Thoubal and currently residing at Khurai Kongpal Laishram Leikai, under Porompat Police Station, Imphal East district. He was apprehended from his residence, and the following items were seized:
One 9 mm pistol with a magazine and six live rounds
Two mobile phones with two SIM cards
Both individuals are currently in custody, and further investigations are underway.
