Trissur: New ‘guests’ to train Police Dog Squad with tactics and obedience. The army has 23 dogs from the Belgian Malinois, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Doberman, and Labrador breeds. DGP Mr. Anil Kant IPS will greet the passing out parade to be held at Thrissur Ramavarmapuram Police Academy on Thursday at 10 am.
The dogs are on duty after nine months of intensive training at the Dog Training School of the Kerala Police Academy. Fourteen dogs have been trained to detect explosives and five dogs have been trained to collect evidence from crime scenes.
