KOCHI: The Ernakulam Rural Police on Wednesday arrested a 52-year-old construction worker on charges of abusing two minor sisters aged three and seven. Police said, Unni Thomas, hailing from Kadungalloor near Aluva had allegedly abused the girls , who are his neighbours one month ago when they had come to his house. In spite of the girls informing their mother the mother of minors did not complain to their mother because the accused had threatened their mother, Police. But one of the girls informed her teacher, and the school authorities reported the case to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). A complaint was lodged by CWC and Police took Unni Thomas into custody. The man was slapped with charges under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. We will produce Unni Thomas in court soon, Police said.]]>
