Siliguri: On 14.03.2022 two persons namely Md. Yakub Khan of Kaliachak, Imamjagir, Near Masjid, Kaliachak Police Station, Malda District and Kajol Sha of Matigara, Rail Gate, Biswas Colony, Near Madarsa School, Matigara Police Station, Darjeeling District were arrested by SOG and Bhaktinagar Police Station for possessing Brown Sugar weighing 980 grams. Over this a specific case under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act was filed at Bhaktinagar Police Station and investigation was started.
Md. Yakub Khan was brought in Police Remand during which leading to his confessional statement the police arrested another drug dealer namely Muktar Alam alias Babu (24) of Sultanganj, Chharkatola, Kaliachak Police Station, Malda District and was taken into police custody.
Then on 17.03.2022 leading to the confessional statement of Muktar Alam arrested one Thakur Sha alias Beer Sha of Airport more, Bagdogra Police Station, Darjeeling District and further recovered and seized 680 grams of Brown Sugar from his possession valued at Rupees 1 Crore 36 Lakhs.
The accused Thakur Saha will be presented before the Ld Court today with a prayer for police remand for further investigations.
