Suzette Jordon, who insisted that her identity should not be kept under wraps passed away at a State-run hospital in March 2015. According to Deputy Commissioner (South) Kolkata police Murlidhar Sharma, information received that the two accused could be in Delhi or the adjoining area. A four-member team of the Kokata police with the help of the local police arrested them at about 1 am on Thursday and were remanded to a 14-day police custody by a city court. As for the arrest taking place more than four years after the rape, Mr. Sharma said that the accused had been changing their hideouts by staying in the residences of their relatives across the country. The accused had nearly no public life. Apart from when they were shifting from one relative’s house to another the two accused rarely ventured outside. They also had no direct contact with their home in Kolkata. In this manner they managed to remain untraced for such a long period. According to the investigators, the two accused stayed with their nephew and some other students at a paying guest facility. When Kader Khan and Ali Khan were returning from a relative’s birthday party to their hideout, the police team followed them. Realising that their cover was blown the accused went to the rooftop and jumped on to a nearby building. One of the constables arrested them. Last December three persons convicted in the Park Street gang-rape case were sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs.1 lakh.]]>
