Kolkata: Today marks the beginning of Higher Secondary examinations all over the state, to continue until April 26. And our services were called upon on day one itself. At around 10.20 a.m., we spotted a young man on a scooter at the Mahatma Gandhi Road-Strand Road crossing, desperately looking for an Examination Centre where his friend was scheduled to take his exam. The friend had left his admit card at home, and the youth had been given the job of finding the centre and handing over the card. Inspector Amaresh Ghosh, OC Howrah Bridge Traffic Guard, located the centre on Rabindra Sarani, and immediately sent Sergeant Sudipta Bhattacharya to the school with the admit card, after which the examinee was allowed into the centre.
Again, at about 10:10 a.m., another young HS examinee approached Constable Swadhin Chanda of East Traffic Guard, on duty at Park Circus seven-point crossing, and requested help to reach his examination centre at nearby Mullick Bazaar as he was already late and would never make it on foot. Constable Chanda immediately put the boy on his two-wheeler and rushed him to the exam centre.
We appeal to all of you to approach us in case of any difficulty during the examinations, and assure you of our services always. We also wish all examinees the best for their exams.
