Kolkata: At around 2.30 pm on Tuesday, January 11, OC Inspector Mr. Subhash Adhikary of Charu Market Police Station received information that a 22-year-old girl had been loitering aimlessly in front of a nationalized bank near Bhabani Cinema Hall for quite some time. Police sub-inspectors Mr. Joy Narayan Chakraborty and Mr. Joydev Bairagi and lady constable Ms. Jharna Hembrum of the police station reached the spot. Except for her name, the young girl did not reveal her home address or the name of her parents. She was educated and could speak Bengali, Hindi, and English fluently. The young girl was constantly expressing her eagerness to meet God. Probably that was the reason for her escape from her house.
Medical Examination at two government hospitals revealed that she was COVID negative. Information about the girl was conveyed to the concerned authorities at Lalbazar. Charu Market police station started searching about the girl’s whereabouts. Inspector Mr. Subhash Adhikary contacted all the police stations and shared the photo of the girl. Charu Market police station arranged her stay in a safe home named ‘Ishwar Sankalp’. On the same day, information was received from Parnshree Police Station that the girl was a resident of Harisava Lane under their jurisdiction and the girl’s father had lodged a missing diary at the police station. It was learned that Parnshree police station contacted the girl’s father, he identified the young girl as his daughter.
The girl’s father Vinod Kumar Singh reached Charu Market police station. The police personnel of Charu Market police station handed over the custody of the girl to her father.
