Kolkata: At about 1.30 pm today, Tiljala Traffic Guard OC Inspector Mr. Souvik Chakraborty received information that a male passenger aged about 65 had fallen seriously ill inside a Barasat-Garia bus on E.M. Bypass. Rushing to the spot, he found the person lying unconscious inside the bus and immediately summoned a KARMA ambulance, getting the patient started on oxygen.
Very shortly, the elderly man was removed to a government hospital for further medical attention. From his belongings, it was ascertained that his name was Shankar Kar, and he has regained consciousness after treatment. His family members have been informed and asked not to panic, and they have expressed their gratitude to Kolkata Traffic Police for the prompt response in saving Mr. Kar’s life.
