Kozhikode City, Kerala: In a strong action to protect public safety, Chevayur Police have detained repeat offender Javed Khan (23), a resident of Karanthur, under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities Prevention Act (KAAPA) and sent him to Kannur Central Jail.
Javed Khan, a habitual offender and known rowdy within Chevayur police station limits, has been involved in multiple theft cases, intimidation and a POCSO case, with pending cases in Nadakkavu, Medical College, Town and other police station limits across Kozhikode district.
In August 2025, he was arrested by Nadakkavu Police for stealing laptops and cameras from a software development company in Eranjipalam, following which he continued involvement in a series of crimes, becoming a serious threat to the public.
Recognizing the need for firm preventive action, Nadakkavu Police initiated KAAPA proceedings against the accused. Based on the report of Inspector Prajeesh and the recommendation submitted by Kozhikode City Deputy Police Commissioner Arun K. Pavithran, the Kozhikode District Collector ordered his detention in Kannur Central Jail.
This decisive action reflects the commitment of Kozhikode City Police to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of citizens by firmly dealing with habitual offenders.
