Kurnool : The helmet awareness rally was started by waving the flag by District SP Mr. Siddharth Kaushal IPS.
Everyone riding a two-wheeler must wear a helmet., Awareness programs on helmets will be conducted to control accidents. On the occasion of 34th National Road Safety Week (Swachhata Pakwada – 2023) (January 18th to 24th) Kurnool Road Transport Department, Kurnool Traffic Police jointly organized a helmet rally from District Police Office parade ground in Kurnool town to create awareness on road safety. District SP Mr. Siddharth Kaushal IPS started the helmet awareness rally as the chief guest of the program. The rally started from the District Police Office via Control Room, Raj Vihar, Collectorate, C Camp Center, Birla Gate, Bangaru Peta, Kids World and reached back to the District Police Office. District SP spoke on this occasion.
Everyone driving a vehicle must wear a helmet. People should be made fully aware about wearing helmets during road safety weeks. Awareness programs on helmets will be organized to control accidents. He said that helmet is like a protective shield and two-wheeler riders must follow it otherwise strict action will be taken as per MVI Act.
Everyone should obey the traffic rules if they want to reach their destinations safely. Parents should inform their children about road safety and traffic rules. He said that the youth should not drive vehicles too fast and get involved in road accidents.He said that road accidents can be controlled if several precautions are taken such as to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol, not to drive while talking on the phone, and not to drive passengers beyond the limit. Kurnool Deputy Transport Commissioner Mr. K. Sridhar, Regional Transport Officer Mr. Ramesh and Traffic DSP Mr. Nagabhushanam participated in this program.
