New Delhi: Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting in New Delhi today with various Heads of Security and Law Enforcement Agencies to review the functioning of the Multi Agency Centre (MAC) of IB, responsible for addressing the country’s security challenges. During the meeting, the Home Minister instructed the heads of security agencies and other intelligence and enforcement agencies from across the country to adopt a whole-of-government approach to national security. He emphasized the need for greater synergy between all agencies to dismantle terror networks and their supporting ecosystems, addressing the evolving security threat scenario.
While reviewing the overall internal security situation and the fight against terrorism, the Home Minister urged all participants to increase their engagement with the Multi Agency Centre, making it a cohesive platform that unites all law enforcement, anti-drug, cyber security, and intelligence agencies for decisive and prompt action.
He highlighted that MAC has earned the trust of its stakeholders and must continue to operate 24/7 as a platform for proactive, real-time sharing of actionable intelligence among various stakeholders, including last-mile responders.
The Union Home Minister also emphasized the importance of forming a team of young, technically proficient, and passionate officers from all agencies involved in national security. This team would utilize Big Data and AI/ML-driven analytics and technological advancements to dismantle the terror ecosystem. He reiterated the need to stay ahead of new and emerging security challenges with proactive responses.
The Home Minister further informed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, the MAC framework is set to undergo a major technical and operational revamp to enhance its reach and effectiveness. He urged all stakeholders to support these efforts through prompt responses and aggressive follow-up of shared inputs.
