Madurai : Madurai city police launch software to monitor mask violations Madurai city police from the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic has been giving a lot of importance to wearing of mass to contain spread of infection.
Till now Madurai city police has booked 46,467 cases and collected fine of Rupees 88,77,330/- for mass rule violations at an average of about 8448 cases per month.
As we look forward to your festival season in Madurai city there is the greater need to ensure the people who come for shopping do not violet mask rules in this regard the Madurai city police has come up with an innovative and technological solution.
Using the existing CCTV camera Network at Thillagar Thidal and vilakkuthoon police station limits a software has been deployed which will protect those who are not wearing or improperly wearing mask and then then alert along with picture of the Violator to the mobile phones with the help of an Android mobile application. This way it will be very useful for police having this app to book cases based on real time alerts along with the proof of violation.
“By upgrading the existing CCTV network with the help of this software is intended to monitor mask complaints book cases based on Pictorial evidence and the contribute and thus contribute to the fight against this Pandemic”. Commissioner of police Mr.Prem Anand Sinha,IPS said.
At the present the software does deployed 20 CCTV cameras each these two stations limits on the trial basis and will be expanded to other parts of Madurai City especially crowded areas.
Madurai city police plans to upgrade this video analytics software to even monitor and detect criminal in movement very soon and thereby make City policing more technologically equipped police Commissioner added.
