Chennai: The Mangadu police identified the accused who was involved in the murder of a senior citizen and was arrested on Wednesday. The senior citizen, Bhaskaran aged 78 was a resident of Madhananthapuram near Mangadu. He lived alone on the second floor of his house, while his son and wife shifted to Manimangalam a few years ago, the police said. For a few days, the house where Bhaskaran stayed remained locked. When the neighbors started getting a foul smell on Sunday they informed the police. On reaching the spot the police found him dead with injuries on the body. They found that valuables were also missing. On conducting the investigation and after checking the call records, the police arrested Mansoor Mohammed who was a hotel staff aged 33. During interrogation, he told the police that both he and Bhaskaran had developed a friendship. Bhaskaran promised him financial help but failed to keep his word. Mansoor confessed to having strangulated him to death to the police.]]>
