Mangan: On 19 April 2022 as a part of Road Safety Week a road safety awareness program with the theme Sadak Suraksha Jeewan Raksha was conducted by Phodong Police Station team at Phodong Bazaar, Seven Sister Falls area and Kabi/BAC area. The field awareness program was attended by drivers, local residents, shop keepers, hoteliers, some tourists, general public and government employees.
The gathering was sensitized by SHO of Phodong Police Station and team on various road safety measures such as use of indicators in correct manner, avoid using of mobile phones while driving, don’t drive drunk, updating of insurance and other documents on time, parking of vehicles at appropriate places only, do not let minors to drive, use of footpath by pedestrian, etc. The gathering was also sensitized about various signals and symbols related to traffic.
The program was found to be very interactive with the participation of drivers and public in the question-answer and demonstration sessions of the program. The posters displaying the theme of program and DOs and DONTs while driving were also displayed as a part of awareness to the gathering. Besides awareness speech the program were also made practical thereby creating practical scenario on the road. The program concluded with the punch lines such as Sadak Suraksha, Jeewan Raksha and Sawdhani Haati Doorghatna Ghaati.
