Udupi, Karnataka: In a significant boost to policing infrastructure, Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar donated a Mahindra Bolero Jeep to the Udupi District Police under his Area Development Fund, strengthening the department’s operational capabilities and public service.
The vehicle was formally handed over on 29 June 2026 at the Udupi District Police Office, where Sunil Kumar presented the keys to Hariram Shankar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Udupi District.
The newly inducted patrol vehicle is expected to enhance police mobility, improve emergency response, and support law enforcement activities across the district. Such additions to the police fleet contribute to more efficient patrolling, quicker response to public emergencies, and improved maintenance of law and order.
The key handover ceremony was attended by Thimmappa Gowda, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DAR, Udupi, Ravi Kumar, Inspector of Police, District Armed Reserve Force, and Gopal, Assistant Administrative Officer, Udupi District Police Office.
The initiative reflects the continued cooperation between public representatives and the police department in strengthening policing infrastructure and enhancing public safety. The donation will help the Udupi District Police provide faster and more effective services to the community while reinforcing their commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens.
