Kolkata: On October 29, the duty officer of Jorasanko police station, Sub-Inspector Mr. Tapan Kumar Das received information that an unidentified man was lying unconscious in front of the number one gate of Varnaparichay Market on College Street. Upon receiving the news Sub-Inspector Mr. Tapan Kumar Das reached the spot.
On seeing the condition of the person water and food were provided, torn clothes were changed and necessary psychiatric treatment was provided. It took a couple of days for the unidentified young man to get used to it. The police found out that the youth’s name is Ajit Sardar, aged 32, his home is in a village under Sandeshkhali police station of North 24 Parganas.
The police of Jorasanko police station contacted Ajitbabu’s brother through the OC of Sandeshkhali police station. That same evening, Ajitbabu’s brother Dilip Sardar arrived at the Jorasanko police station, identified the brother, and took him back home. He had left home 10 years ago due to a family dispute. From then on he wandered in different parts of the state in a state of mental depression like a wanderer. The trouble-filled life of the youth was brought to an end by the police officer.
