Mumbai: After the Mumbai Police registered a formal First Information Report (FIR) against Arunabh Kumar, CEO of The Viral Fever (TVF) a Police team said that Arunabh Kumar is on the run and they have not traced him till now. A team had visited the TVF office but so far they have not located Kumar said a Police official from MIDC police station. The Police officer said, “A team has been trying to nab Arunabh Kumar. We are not sure if he has applied for anticipatory bail or not. But if he does, we will oppose, as it is a non-bailable offence. Police will arrest him immediately after he is located”. Summons have been issued Kumar by Police. He has been asked to appear before them and record his statement, Police said. In the meantime another woman registered an FIR against Arunabh Kumar on Thursday night at the Versova Police station. Police has booked Kumar under sections 354 (sexual harassment) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code. A 26 year old woman writer has registered the FIR against Arunabh Kumar. The woman in her complaint has said that the alleged sexual harassment took place in May 2016, when she was interacting and working with Kumar and TVF for an official project, according to officials at the MIDC Police. A woman had blogged about sexual harassment by Kumar on March 13. The post was uploaded by a user who identified herself as The Indian Fowler. She also alleged that TVF did not have the mandatory committee to look into cases of sexual harassment against women at work places. The post went viral following this many other women put up posts narrating their ordeal. Though the TVF case went viral, the police could not take action against him since no FIR or formal complaint was registered by victims. Mr. Rizwan Siddique an advocate had approached the Police to register an FIR but the Police had said that one of the women victims’ should register an FIR. Arunabh Kumar and TVF had refuted all the allegations. They also have not issued any statement after the FIR was filed. ]]>
