Chennai is the safest metro city in the country with 13,422 cases, according to the data released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) on yesterday. Bengaluru reported 188 murder cases in 2015, the third highest after Delhi (464) and Patna (232), among the 53 cities in the country. The NCRB data also revealed that the city recorded 112 rape cases last year. The city stood third with 777 cases of kidnapping and abduction cases while New Delhi recorded 6,630 cases and Mumbai 1,583 cases.
