<![CDATA[P.R. Sundaram, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha requested the Central Government to allocate more funds to modernize police force in Tamil Nadu. Mr. Sundaram said that the state police is one of the most professional and efficient force in the country he said while speaking during the Zero Hour in Parliament recently. Constant vigil by the force has ensured a stellar record for the state in maintaining the law and order and effectively combating threats to internal security, he added. Rs. 10,000 crore would be required to modernize the state police in the next few years. An allocation of Rs. 12,379.30 crore to modernize the entire police force in the country for five years from 2012 would not be sufficient, he said. He further added that, the Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in a memorandum to the Prime Minister recently had requested to incraesae the allocation of funds for creating a world class, modern and efficient police force in TN.]]>
