New Delhi, October 21, 2025: India’s celebrated athlete and two-time Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra has been conferred the Honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, recognizing his exceptional achievements in sports and his embodiment of national pride and discipline.
Expressing his delight, the Union Defence Minister stated,
“Delighted to confer the insignia of the Honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army upon Neeraj Chopra, India’s outstanding sportsperson and two-time Olympic medalist. Neeraj Chopra is an epitome of perseverance, patriotism, and the Indian spirit of striving for excellence. Wishing him success in all his future endeavours.”
