Rachakonda: During a night patrol on September 8, 2023, at the Choutuppal bus stand, the Choutuppal Police apprehended a drug peddler identified as Lalu Das, aged 25, residing in Devulamma Nagaram Village, Choutuppal Mandal, originally from Bihar. Lalu Das was found in possession of 3 kilograms of contraband dry ganja and one mobile phone, with an estimated total value of approximately Rs.100,000/-.
This incident falls under Criminal Case Number 505/2023, under Section 8 (C) read with Section 20 (b) (II) (B) of the NDPS Act 1985, registered at the Choutuppal Police Station, Rachakonda Commissionerate.
Lalu Das had been residing in Devulamma Nagaram Village for the past two years, earning a living through manual labor. He had brought the ganja from his hometown in Bihar with the intent to sell it to consumers in the Choutuppal Mandal.
Lalu Das arrived at the Choutuppal bus stand from Bihar on the midnight of September 7, 2023, and spent the night there. During a surprise inspection and night patrolling at the bus stand, the Choutuppal Police apprehended Lalu Das, who was attempting to profit from the illegal sale of ganja. They seized 3 kilograms of contraband dry ganja and one mobile phone from his possession.
This arrest was carried out under the direct supervision of Mr. D S Chauhan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, with guidance from Mr. Rajesh Chandra DCP, Yadadri-Zone, Mr. Y. Mogaaiah, ACP, Choutuppal Division, Mr. S. Devender, Inspector of Police, Choutuppal Police Station, Mr. K. Yadagiri, SIP, and Mr. Jhanayya, ASI, along with their staff from Rachakonda.
