Kakinada: Kakinada District Superintendent of Police (SP), Mr. Vikrant Patil, IPS, has significantly ramped up night patrolling efforts throughout the district in a proactive move to combat and prevent criminal activities. Recognizing the importance of maintaining public safety, especially during nighttime, Mr. Patil has ordered an increase in the frequency and intensity of patrolling operations, ensuring that law enforcement presence is felt across all areas during the night.
As part of these enhanced security measures, on August 17, 2024, SP Mr. Patil appointed Pithapuram Circle Inspector (CI), G. Srinivas, as the dedicated Night Patrol Officer for the Kakinada Sub Division. This strategic appointment underscores the district police’s commitment to maintaining law and order during the hours when criminal activity is most likely to occur.
To further bolster these efforts, a sub-inspector has been specifically deputed in each police station area within Kakinada town for the purpose of overseeing night patrolling. This ensures that every locality has a responsible officer actively monitoring and responding to any suspicious or criminal behavior during the night. The night patrolling operations are not confined to the town alone but extend to the suburbs and surrounding villages of Kakinada. This comprehensive approach aims to create a secure environment across the entire district.
Additionally, special patrolling teams have been formed with a focused mandate to control and prevent crime. These teams are tasked with conducting regular beats, surveillance, and rapid response operations, particularly in areas identified as crime-prone or vulnerable.
On the evening of August 17, 2024, following the issuance of specific instructions by the SP, the patrol teams from Kakinada Town Police Station and Kakinada Rural Circle Police Station were dispatched for intensified night patrolling. The instructions provided to these teams emphasized the need for vigilance, quick response to incidents, and active engagement with the community to deter criminal elements effectively. These efforts mark a decisive step by the Kakinada District Police to enhance public safety and uphold the rule of law throughout the district.
