BALESWAR: On Thursday, police held two highway robbers and seized a pickup van, six empty barrels and Rs 1.78 lakh cash from their possessions. The culprits were identified as Kartik Chandra Behera and SK Imran from Gandarda village and Somnathpur village respectively. The police apprehended two persons involved seizing an oil tanker and siphoning oil from it. They grabbed two barrels containing 220 litres of diesel in each. According to police, the duo on August had seizing the lorry near Nagram after intimidating the driver and helper of the tanker at gunpoint while they were heading towards Angul from Haldia of West Bengal. The miscreants covered their face with mask and armed with pistol, caught driver and his helper along with them and left them at the Kamsola Check gate. After the incident, the duo had informed their owner Jogindra Prasad Shaw. Following which the owner had lodged a complaint with police. Acting on the complaint the police traced the tanker which was fitted with GPS. Earlier too, police had found a hijacked lorry bearing the same registration near Bangiriposhi but it was empty said the Official. He added saying that in the crime some professionals involved. ]]>
