CHENNAI: Police apprehended two B. Tech final students at the Govindavadi Agaram bus stop near Kancheepuram for allegedly involved in smuggling 2 kg of ganja. They have been identified as Praveen of Nellore and Sairam of Kakinada. Police said that the duo went to Tirupati and purchased 2 kg of ganja from a vendor for approximately Rs 15,000 on Friday. They were caught on their way to Kancheepuram while waiting at a bus stand for their contact to supply the drug. The CID officials seized the smuggled ganja and arrested them. They were the students from a college near Enathur in Kancheepuram. During interrogation, the duo revealed that they usually kept ganja inside a toy snake and sold them to the students in their college charging each packed minimum of Rs 200. Police have registered a case against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and they been remanded in judicial custody. ]]>
