<![CDATA[Five days after three unidentified men allegedly robbed around Rs.18 lakh from two employees of a chartered accountant (CA) in east Delhi’s Shakarpur, the police on Tuesday said they have arrested five men in connection with the case. The police have recovered Rs.10.20 lakh of the robbed money, two pistols, one bike, a scooter and a smart phone from the arrested men. The arrested men include the CA’s driver, Abhishek Thakur, who was carrying Rs.17.72 lakh in a bag when the robbery took place on April 12. He was along with another employee Sonu. The Chartered Accountant had asked the duo to hand over the money bag to his family and had given them his car for the same, the police told. The DCP Mr.Pankaj Singh told that as the duo went near the car, three men riding on a scooter tried to snatch the bag from Sonu. When Sonu resisted, the three threatened to kill him. They snatched the bag and fled the spot. After this, Abhishek hit their scooter with the car. They fell off but fled with the money. Abhishek had passed on the information about the presence of the money at his employer’s office to one of his friend, identified as Raj, who knew some criminals at Loni in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, the police told. Apart from Abhishek and Raj, the three other arrested robbers were identified as Gulfam alias Shanu, Aakash Gurde, and Ali Dad Khan aka Sikander. Police said Gulfam, Aakash and Dad were previously involved in robberies , the police told. The police told that their investigation has hinted to the involvement others, who are absconding with the rest of the robbed money. “We are looking for them as well,"the police added.]]>
