<![CDATA[KOLKATA: A band of criminals consisted of 9 members, disguised as police looted approximately 70000 cash and gold jewellery from a house located near Narendrapur, located 5km from Sonarpur railway station in the Netaji Nagar locality of the city suburb. The incident had happened on Monday in the early morning. It is said that in the early morning of Monday, three persons dressed in police uniforms knocked at the door of the house saying that they were from police department and had come to interrogate them for an investigation. While Arup Dutta aged 42 opened the door hurriedly six persons entered the rooms and while other three stood outside. They grabbed the gold jewellery including around Rs 70000 cash before they left the house. It took almost an hour to realize that the men were actually a band of robbers. While fleeing from the place they fired three rounds in the air to threaten the neighbours who were being altered by Arup. However, the neighbours caught hold of a member of the gang and handed him over to the police. Later on, police with the help of the accused conducted raids and caught another two. During police interrogation, Arup said that she could hear vividly that they were non-locals. They asked her to open five almirahs and blamed her of indulging in illegal gold business. From each almirah they took some of their belongings and said that things have been seized. The seized things include 13 bhoris of gold jwellery, ear rings, necklace of goddesses from the puja room, etc. After the incident when police were informed they started raids and arrested three persons. One of the accused confessed that they possessed a gun which was thrown into a local pond. Besides, police also recovered much of the stolen ornaments from them. Still other accused are on hunt and police is underway for the investigation. ]]>
