Hyderabad, Telangana: In a major breakthrough against organized property crime, the Chilakalguda Police successfully dismantled the notorious interstate “Bruce Lee”gang, arresting three habitual offenders, including the gang leader, and apprehending a juvenile involved in the offences.

The operation was launched following a robbery reported in Bhoiguda, where a man was allegedly abducted, assaulted, robbed of his mobile phone and cash, and later abandoned after being threatened. Acting under the directions of DCP Rakshita Krishnamurthy, IPS, the Chilakalguda Crime Team carried out a scientific investigation using CCTV footage, technical surveillance, and intelligence inputs, leading to the identification and arrest of the accused.

The arrested gang leader, Darla Nehemiah alias “Bruce Lee” (30), is a notorious interstate criminal from Karnataka with 65 criminal cases registered against him across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. His criminal record includes offences such as murder, attempt to murder, robbery, and house-breaking. Investigations revealed that after his recent release from prison, he reorganized his criminal network and resumed committing a series of robberies.

Police also arrested his associates Dara Aswanth (27) and Nitin Francis alias Bablu (22), while a juvenile in conflict with the law was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board. During the operation, the police recovered a Redmi mobile phone, an Activa scooter, and ₹2.25 lakh in cash connected with a separate robbery case in Meerpet.

The accused were produced before the Secunderabad Court and remanded to judicial custody. Senior officers commended the investigating team for their professional work in solving the case and dismantling an organized criminal network.

Following the successful operation, DCP Rakshita Krishnamurthy, IPS, reiterated the city’s zero-tolerance policy towards organized crime, warning that habitual offenders would remain under constant surveillance and that stringent preventive measures, including the Preventive Detention (PD) Act, would be invoked against those who continue to threaten public safety.

The successful crackdown reflects the Hyderabad City Police’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, swift investigation, and decisive action against organized crime, ensuring greater safety and security for citizens.
