Vijayawada: On October 22, 2023, City Police Commissioner Mr. Kanti Rana Tata, I.P.S., along with various officials, conducted an independent inspection of the Hamsa vehicle trail run as part of the rafting festival in the Krishna river in Vijayawada. As part of this event, the Sri Durga Malleswara Swami Theppotsavam, scheduled for the final day of Dussehra, will be celebrated with grandeur. The varla of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy will be taken to Durga Ghat and then rafted in the Krishna river on a swan.
The successful execution of this program requires careful planning. Thousands of devotees are expected to gather to witness the event without any incidents. The officers and staff were given specific instructions and advice regarding strict security measures. Seating arrangements will strictly adhere to boat capacity, and dedicated boat support teams have been established. State Disaster Response Force teams will also be deployed for added safety. Additionally, it was emphasized that devotees should follow a designated path during the darshan to ensure smooth proceedings.
