Warangal City, Telangana: Warangal Police Commissioner N. Swetha, IPS, has directed officials to conduct high-quality investigations in every case and take measures to ensure victims receive prompt justice.
On Tuesday, a monthly crime review meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Warangal Police Commissioner at the Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITS) college premises, involving police officers from the Warangal Police Commissionerate limits.
During the meeting, the Police Commissioner conducted a comprehensive review of various issues, including pending crimes within the Commissionerate, investigation progress, case detection rates, the status of pending cases, the law-and-order situation, the prevention of crimes against women and children, cybercrime control, drug eradication, and traffic management.
Addressing the meeting, the Police Commissioner instructed officials to expedite the investigation of pending cases and focus specifically on arresting the accused. She directed that property recovered in theft cases be handed over to the victims immediately after completing the necessary legal formalities.
As part of drug control efforts, she ordered special inspections to completely curb the sale of gutka, cigarettes, and other tobacco products in the vicinity of schools. Instructions were issued to mandatorily register every petition received from the public, immediately appoint an investigating officer, and ensure a quality inquiry is completed within the stipulated timeframe. It was also emphasized that there must be an immediate response to every complaint received via Dial-100 to ensure timely service to victims.
The Commissioner directed that effective policing be implemented by making efficient use of available human resources. Instructions were given to handle land dispute cases in accordance with the law, strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Orders were issued to maintain constant surveillance on individuals who disrupt law and order and to open ‘rowdy sheets’ against them where necessary. Warangal Police Commissioner N. Swetha, IPS, guided the officers, reiterating that public safety is the primary objective of the police department.
