Shivamogga, Karnataka: The Malur Police Station organised an informative Open House Programme to create awareness among students about the law, policing procedures, and the day-to-day functioning of a police station.
During the programme, police personnel interacted with the students and explained the various responsibilities carried out by the police, including maintaining law and order, preventing crime, protecting citizens, receiving complaints, and assisting the public. Students were also given an opportunity to understand how a police station functions and how police officers respond to different situations.
The initiative provided students with valuable practical knowledge about the legal system and encouraged them to develop a positive and responsible approach towards law and civic duties. Such direct interaction also helps remove misconceptions about policing and builds trust and confidence between young citizens and the police.
The Open House Programme reflects the commitment of Malur Police towards community-oriented policing and proactive public outreach. By engaging with students at an early stage, the police are helping create a more legally aware, responsible, and safety-conscious generation while further strengthening police–public relations.
