Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: As part of Operation Dandayana, the Srikakulam District Police organized a comprehensive legal awareness programme for students at a local school in Narasannapet Mandal to promote legal literacy, personal safety, and responsible citizenship.
The programme was conducted by the Women and Girls Safety Wing and Shakti Teams under the supervision of Trainee SI Satyanarayana. During the interactive session, police officers educated students on the importance of Indian laws, their legal rights and responsibilities, and the need to respect the law while growing into responsible citizens.
Students were also sensitized about cybercrime prevention, the safety of women and girls, and the harmful effects of drug abuse. The police explained how to identify online frauds, stay safe on digital platforms, and seek timely assistance in case of emergencies.
As part of the awareness drive, students were introduced to the Shakti App and informed about important emergency helpline numbers, including 112 (Police Emergency Services), 181 (Women’s Helpline), 1098 (Child Helpline), and 1930 (Cyber Crime Helpline). They were encouraged to contact their parents or the police immediately if they faced any crime, harassment, or emergency situation.
The programme witnessed active participation from students, teachers, and police personnel and reflects the Srikakulam District Police’s commitment to educating young minds, enhancing legal awareness, promoting women’s safety, preventing cybercrime and drug abuse, and fostering a culture of lawfulness and public safety in the community.
