NEW DELHI: Police arrested the driver and seized his dumper truck for creating a tragic incident which left father and daughter killed. The deceased identified were Kewal Diwan and his daughter Manya. A tragic incident that took place on Tuesday on Man Singh Road near India Gate, two persons were killed while they were out for an ice-cream treat and two other pedestrians were left hurt. A speeding dumper truck dashed into three auto-rickshaws and a scooter. Regarding the incident, Police were informed around 12.20 am and immediately they rushed to the spot. They found a crushed scooty and a man aged 42 lying near the rear side of dumper. He was rushed to hospital but was declared brought dead. Besides, three injured persons were also taken to hospital by Police Control Room (PCR) van. Among them a girl was declared brought dead said police. The speeding dumper truck had entered Rajpath lawns after hitting several vehicles and crossing over the footpath added a senior official. The accused driver of dumper identified as Raman a resident of Badarpur, New Delhi was arrested from the spot. Police discovered that his right hand also was fractured. He had been sent to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code. ]]>
