BENGALURU: The Union Home Ministry has issued a circular calling for strict vigilance at all railway stations in the country after the bomb blast on the Ujjain-Bhopal train last week. The bomb blast occurred on the morning of March 8 near Jabdi station in Madhya Pradesh that left 10 injured. Since the blast, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police, GRP, in Karnataka have been on their toes. Mr. M Suresh, Senior Security Commissioner, RPF said, Police in civilian clothes have been deployed across railway stations. The Commissioner added, “The Police are on high alert and we are being extra vigilant at certain points along railway tracks where there were attempts to derail trains in the recent past using stones or cement slabs and additional RPF escorts have been posted in more number of trains in the Bengaluru Division’’. He said, “Even though there is no specific warning a general alert notice has been issued last week as the focus is more of City, Yeswanthpur and Cantonment railway stations.” The Government Railway Police, GRP, has intensified vigil as soon as the MP train blast case was reported said Mr. Anoop A Shetty, Superintendent, GRP Karnataka. “Karnataka Anti-sabotage squads have been pressed in to operation at major stations.
