Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: Mr. K. V. Maheshwara Reddy stated that the Eid al-Adha (Bakrid) festival symbolizes religious harmony, sacrifice, and peaceful coexistence among communities.
The District SP extended Bakrid greetings to the Muslim community and appealed to people to celebrate the festival peacefully beyond caste and religious differences. Police officials have been directed to implement precautionary security measures across the district to prevent any untoward incidents during the celebrations.
Authorities stated that surveillance arrangements including ambush teams, drones, and CCTV monitoring would be deployed at important mosques and sensitive locations. The public was also advised not to believe or spread false propaganda or rumours intended to create communal hatred.
The District SP further requested citizens to immediately inform the local police or dial emergency helpline 112 regarding any illegal transport of cattle or suspicious activities, while assuring that the police department remains committed to maintaining peace, harmony, and public safety during the festival period.
